Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY & FUNCTIONS:
Perform diversified duties to direct and participate in a variety
of operations involving the assembly of company products. Work from
verbal and written instructions under general direction. Position
requires analytical skills, judgment and experience to comply with
established schedules, procedures, methods, written specifications
or drawings, and the making of regular decisions during the course
of directing a team of assemblers. Must be able to direct, train
and instruct others in all assembly operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
$bull; Layout and designate work for assigned group. Train, aid and
instruct as required. Assist supervisor in developing schedule.
Check stock to determine necessary kits/components are available
and release manufacturing orders. Pull required tooling. Report any
shortages. Pull required paperwork and ensure completion of all
documents as job runs and is completed.
$bull; Set up operations and assign assemblers. Check parts for
correct specifications and visually check for damage. Ensure
drawings are on each line and easily seen by operators. Observe
assemblers¿ operations and ensure standardization of processes.
Check first pieces and document in computer. Make required
changes/corrections to the set up. Document inspection on
computer.
$bull; Track work progression on scheduling board. Manage flow of
work to minimize WIP and increase efficiencies. Follow standardized
procedures for problem solving and record production problems on
Problem Board and obtain sign offs for changes in process.
$bull; Work with Inspection, Production and Stock Room personnel on
the solution of problems encountered. Confer/communicate with all
levels of management to support and organize company
initiatives.
Perform any and all assembly operations as production schedules
demand. Rearrange/adjust schedules to accommodate material
shortages or required deviations from production plans.
$bull; May be required to perform analysis of production data, i.e.
statistical process controls.
$bull; Detect faulty operations, defective material and report
these and any unusual conditions to supervisor. Comply with and
enforce safety regulation and good housekeeping.
$bull; Assist supervisor in promoting good employee performance.
Maintain discipline within the department according to Company
policy and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Individual works closely with group leaders, production supervisors
and management personnel. Is able to assist/instruct and train
others in performing their duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:

$bull; Knowledge and demonstrated use of basic shop math in
addition to simple production analytics using computer programs
(SPC).
$bull; Ability to read and interpret a variety of simple to complex
blueprints and written production requirements.
$bull; Understand and use English and metric measurement
systems.
$bull; Ability to use complex assembly equipment.
$bull; Ability to work independently without supervision and meet
or exceed production requirements.
